What is depression?

To me, it is having everything you need to be happy, but yet you feel miserable.

There is no good reason why I should feel this sad. I just got a HUGE paycheck. Work went really well. And today was a beautiful day.

However, standing here, typing this, I just want to crawl into a mountain of fresh, clean, warm laundry and not come out for several days.

I want to be separate from the world, surrounded by comfort.

That is what depression is to me. Now, if I could just figure out how to fix it without robbing a laundromat.

Obama is planning to expand Bush's faith based initiatives. Fantastic.

We need less religion in our government, not more.

I am liking Obama less and less every day. He doesn't support gay marriage and now he wants to fund religions.

Where is our government?

Gas prices are surging to higher and higher levels. Meanwhile, the Dow is dropping to levels we haven't seen in years. People are losing their homes. And yet, what is our government doing to help?

That's right, the rebate checks. That magic wand stimulus package that Bush said we had to wait and see if it works. Well I was watchin, and you know what I saw? Jack squat!

It is time someone in Congress stepped up and demanded that action be taken. Something needs to be done to stem the rise in oil prices and the declining dollar.

Otherwise, this recession becomes a depression.
